A taste table at Brunel University

Fairtrade tastes good to Brunel Uni students

During Fairtrade Fortnight the students, staff and visitors, at Brunel University were  treated to an extensive programme of activities and treats including taste sessions, design competitions, presentations, fashion shows, literature, smoothie making and a ‘cook off’ all themed around Fairtrade ingredients, items and goods.

Avina Patel, Brunel University Students Union vice-president, who co-ordinated these impressive events, says: “The second day of the Fairtrade fortnight campaign  included the popular ‘taste tent’  which boasted supplying a variety of fairtrade products on offer to sample, this included; wine (donated from Costcutter and Sainbury’s), Divine Chocolate, cookies, nuts, dried fruits, juices (donated from Calypso), Ubuntu Cola (donated by fairtrade in Ealing). Numbers of over 200 students engaged in this particular event proving a huge success.”
